Customers of India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) have reportedly been receiving fraudulent messages claiming that their bank accounts will be blocked within 24 hours if they do not update their PAN card details. These messages include suspicious links directing users to scam websites. Scammers are employing phishing techniques to deceive individuals into revealing sensitive personal information.

What Did PIB Say About the PAN Card Scam?

The Press Information Bureau (PIB) has labeled these messages as fake. India Post clarified that it does not send such alerts and advised the public to avoid clicking on any suspicious links or sharing personal details. In a statement on social media platform X, PIB confirmed, “The claim that IPPB accounts will be blocked within 24 hours if PAN details are not updated is false. India Post never sends such messages.”
